Glassline paper 12 cm x 12 cm should be kept a minimum of 6 mm
the outer edge of the glass. If the paper is too close to the
edge lightly, the glass will not close properly or the paper may wind.
A small space between the sheets of glass is a must. Use 3 mm
long pieces of 2 mm thickness clear or colored stringers, place one end in the extreme
corner of the glass. This works well for pieces measuring 20 x 20 cm or smaller. As
stringers are not available, a large piece of frit in any corner can work too.
Larger sizes require the use of stringers in larger quantities.
. For pieces larger than 35 x 50 cm use up to twelve pieces of 3 mm long
stringers placed along the edge of the piece. This distance
makes it possible to release gases. Like this distance
When not fired too quickly, carbon can get caught between the layers of glass
creating a smoky gray color and / or large air bubbles.
Glassline sheets of paper can be glued to the glass or together.
A small dot in the center of the paper works better than gluing the corners. Use as little as possible,
The goal is to keep only the paper in place until the glass melts. Only one
glue residues on the glass before baking must be cleaned.
Be careful when handling the sheets of paper, excessive bending of the paper may occur
let the color fade.
Heat the pieces with the special "full-fusing" temperature of the glass.
Heat to 537 ° C and keep the temperature for 4 hours.
For the pieces larger than 25 x 25cm keep the temperature
for a longer period of time.
